At IDeA World College, education goes beyond the classroom. A degree is only the starting point. What we are really building, alongside our students, is a career. From the very first year, students at IDeA World College are encouraged to build professional portfolios, take on live projects, and get comfortable with the kind of industry exposure that makes the jump from classroom to workplace feel a lot less daunting.
Placements are not something that happens in the final semester. At IDeA World College, we treat them as the outcome of everything a student does across the course: the projects, the critiques, the internships, the small wins that build real confidence.
Our placement approach focuses on:
Career support at IDeA World College doesn't wait until graduation. Our Career Development Cell works with students throughout their academic journey so that, by the time they are ready to step out, the process feels familiar rather than intimidating.
The Cell helps students with:
Internships are where classroom learning meets the real world, and at IDeA World College, they are built into the course structure rather than left to chance. Interior Design students begin their internships in the fifth semester for a minimum of 45 days. Fashion Design students begin their studies in the sixth semester, on the same minimum timeline.
Students typically intern across a wide range of settings: design studios, architecture firms, fashion houses, advertising and branding agencies, interior design firms, retail companies, creative startups, media organisations, and manufacturing companies. This variety matters. It means graduates leave with a sense of where they might actually want to build a career and not just a completed internship certificate.
A design education opens more doors than most people expect. Graduates of IDeA World College go on to build careers across both established roles and newer, more entrepreneurial paths.
Since 2018, graduates of IDeA World College have gone on to work with fashion brands, apparel manufacturers, export houses, retail chains, and design studios across the country. As our placement partnerships continue to grow, we look forward to sharing more detailed placement data and recruiter information on this page soon.
Not every graduate wants a traditional job, and IDeA World College is built to support that too. For students with an entrepreneurial streak, we offer business mentoring, help with portfolio development for client pitches, industry networking opportunities, branding guidance, and training in client presentation skills. Students exploring freelance work or their own design ventures also get access to startup awareness sessions designed to make that path feel achievable rather than overwhelming.
